But, it's the "XK" [all the Jaguar 6 DOHC 6 cylinder engines from 1948 thru 1986] we're talking about, and the last word must go to Lou Fidanza [Gran Turismo Jaguar] who struck blow after blow for the old "six" which he developed and developed to the limit, but within, the SCCA's regulations. His great moment came at the 1980 Road Atlanta finals when his British-born hot shoe, Fred Baker, literally brushed aside the Datsun hordes to give the Eastlake [Cleveland], Ohio, based Gran Turismo Jaguar team E-type a wonderful victory—a "fun" result where "business" racing may have encroached too far."
